veronxtravel : BALI - NUSA CENINGAN PART 2

Hello, welcome back! Thanks for reading part 1! If you haven't do check out part 1 first. (: Alright, here we go! So my flight to bali on the 12th of March is at 2am. Always remember to check in 2 hours before your flight time. I arrived at the airport at 10pm to have dinner first cause I'm starving. Oh, and I forgot to mention in the previous post, always bring your buddy/BFF along cause its cheaper if you travel in even numbers. Teehe. Alright, pictures time.
Check in time! Bye bye +65. We arrive at the Ngurah Rai Airport at 5am, ohgosh. We actually have to wait till 9am for the driver to come and pick us up. So, we had breakfast at the airport. After a 30 mins ride to the harbour plus 40 mins boat ride plus 30 mins of bumpy cargo rides, we finally arrive at Nusa Ceningan! A beautiful island indeed.
The view from our beach club, Le Pirate.
I can literally go on and on about the picturesque scenaries but I know it might get boring. So, a little bit of the beach box we are going to stay at.
All their beach box have a different name and ours is named MORE. There are SLOW, WORLD, WHERE etc etc. The people there were really friendly and nice. Their captain tried to give us the best experience and treat us as though we are local. Its great at Le Pirate you have hundred percent privacy and you can definitely move around like the resort belongs to you. So, we spent our first day lazing around the pool and sunbathing.
It's dinner time! Okay, I know it might not look very appealing but I actually ordered pasta with brocolli and spinach and cherry tomatoes.

The second day was a blast. We decided to go out and explore the island. However, since we do not know how to ride a scooter aka motorbike we asked the people there to give us a lift. Of course, we have to pay them and its is around 150,000 IDR which is equivalent to about SGD$15. Its abit expensive but ohwells, its better than getting lost around island right. If you know how to ride the scooter you can easily rent one from them for about SGD$8 (I think). Other than scooter rental they provide balinese massage, manicure, pedicure as well as snorkeling service. All you have to do is request and they'll settle everything for you! Their service was superb. So back to the point, scooter ride was awesomely shiok. That fast speed around the island, you could even feel the wind on your face. One thing is that, the road there is uneven and might be flooded with puddles of mudwater so you have to becareful while riding. But, that is part of the fun too! It is like a roller coaster ride ohyeah, hehehe. *Cheap thrills* Okay, so we ride to the famous Blue Lagoon on that island. That place was absolutely beautiful.
People usually go there to swim by jumping off a cliff. We totally didn't expect that so we did not prepare our swimsuits. Ohwell, next time then. Oh and btw, thats the only decent picture we had. Hahaha, we were too busy helping each other to take photos so we forgot about ourselves. Next stop: we went to Nusa Lembongan to explore a paradise, they call it the dream beach.
Breakfast for the day at dream beach plus the fruit punch I had was awesomely good.
After that we went for abit of shopping even though there are nothing much to buy there. So, we went back to the pool and had an afternoon swim session since there were no one using the pool hehe.
This sums up the second day. The third day was rather simple as we are preparing to go back to the airport, we packed up early and left for the airport and did some last minute souvenir shopping before boarding the plane.
Oh, a photo during the bumpy cargo ride. Hehe, I love the roller coaster feeling sensation.
My Ngurah Rai Airport fashion, lupsup style with slippers and messy bun.
Dinner before boarding the plane. I just felt like eating nasi lemak so please don't judge me. Their nasi lemak chilli was less spicy though.
Last photo I took before boarding the plane. Alright tata.
A tips for you guys that are going to Bali is that bring along USD if you're planning to get cheap branded goods like Longchamp, Fossils etc. We only realised that they sell those brands inside the departure gates so you might want to spend some time shopping inside after check in. However, all prices are in USD. Oh, and before you leave Denpasar, they need to collect a 200, 000 IDR tax so if you wanna leave, remember to save 200, 000 for leaving if not it will be very troublesome because there are no money changer and apparently they don't accept my POSB card. Another alternative approach that I took is to pay SGD$25 for the tax, fml. But it is better than not being able to catch the flight right. Even though it is expensive but still, I didn't had a choice. I left Denpasar with 10,000 IDR which is equivalen to around SGD$1 hahaha, I'm so broke. Okay, even though the living pace there was rather slow and peaceful I totally cannot get used to it at all. I've been working like a bull all my life and suddenly when my pace have to slow down, I am really not used to it. But, its always good to have a short break, a short getaway. Thanks Bali and thanks to all the nice people I've met during the trip, I am really grateful to all the people I met during this trip: The young lady and her boyfriend at Singapore airport, the old couple I met at Ngurah Rai Airport, the Le Pirates captain and crew, the Holland caucasian lady name Robin and the MARLIN driver. Its been a nice 3D2N, alright back to hectic week ahead! Annyeong.

veronxtravel : BALI - NUSA CENINGAN PART 1

Hello there! I've decided to write a blogpost on this trip because there are just too many photos to post. All the pictures are so pretty and I could not decide which one to post. I will be dividing this trip into two blogpost: part 1 on the booking of flights and accomodation and part 2 on the trip itself. Keep looking forward!
Alright, first thing first so I decided to head over to Bali for a short 3D2N getaway after the exams. I bet all of you guys love to travel but don't want to spend much right. Yes, I am one of you guys too. The reason why I'm determined to go on a BUDGET TRAVEL. I've spent most of my time looking for the cheapest flight and of course a good accomodation at a fraction of the price. I looked through most of the budget airlines such as AirAsia, Jetstar, Scoot etc etc. During the decision making process, I came across this app recommended by my friend. It's called Skyscanner. This app helps you to filter out all the cheap flights and get the best deal in several tap. You just have to create an account with them and you're good to go! All you need to do is to choose your destination and the day you wishes to depart and return. If you want the best deal, you don't have to choose the dates first and see which dates will give you the cheapest price. Do remember to compare a few airlines before choosing! So in the end I've decided to fly on the 12th of March, which have the cheapest departure and return flights apparently. I've chosen Jetstar as most of my friends had taken it before and said that its pretty decent as well. And indeed, their service was considered good with such prices.
This shows the price chart for each day in March 2015.
After selecting, they will show you a range of cheap flights and you can choose the combination you want. According to the timings and the airline you prefer. After choosing, they will redirect you to the respective airlines and you have to make your bookings. It is just that simple! For booking of air tickets, all you have to do is just follow the procedures and you're good to go.
Okay, so now for the accomodation part, I would like to introduce you this new app called airbnb. This app is totally awesome! You guys should totally check it out. They offered low rate accomodation from an apartment to a boathouse, all over the world. It totally blew my mind away. You may also want to sign up for an account with them so that you can book the place and make payments. You can recommend your friends through a link and he/she that signed up through your link can get $25 off for their first trip! Isn't that a good deal? So, do sign up through my link: HERE to get your $25 off!

You may choose the place you're going and choose the dates you're departing and returning to refine the results. If you're on budget travel like I am, you can also choose the price range that you're willing to pay for per night. So, I'm only willing to pay for about $100 per night.
This is my final choice. Hehe. Do note that you'll have to pay a small fee to airbnb during payment. The payment is a step by step procedure so it is very easy for you to book the place. If you want to know more about the place, airbnb also provide a contact host function. It allows you to send a message to the host and clear your doubts! Do not hesistate to contact a few hosts before deciding on your choice. Do keep your choices open if you want the best deal! You can also request for pick up service if they are providing. All these can be settled by asking the hosts. There are also reviews from travellers who had stayed there from their previous trip, remember to look through all the reviews to see whether is there any negative feedbacks. There are also more pictures about the place, including facilities and what's going on around that area. After choosing an ideal place, you're more than ready, just pack and get ready to the airport. Hehe. So for this budget travel, I have spent around $300 on air tickets, $85 for accomodation and $150 for expenses. In total, I've spent $535! Slightly over my budget of $500, but mostly because I booked it too last minute. Haha, so a tip for you guys is that always plan your trip early! Preferably 3 months earlier to get cheaper air tickets and do look out for airline promotions as well. Thats the key for budget travel! I hope all of you who are reading this, and are travelling, do have a awesome trip ahead! Don't forget to sign up through my link above and get $25 off! This post will end here and do look out for part 2 and I'll show you what the place that I've chosen really look like!(:
